Neil Durrant Bingham, 80, of Casa Grande died Oct. 5, 2009 at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Jordan, Utah. The funeral will follow at 10, with Thomas E. Bingham officiating. Burial will be in Orem City, Utah.
Mr. Bingham was born Oct. 31, 1928 in Park City, Utah, and was a son of Thomas S. and Adel Bingham. He was a mechanical engineer and pilot and builder of airplanes. He loved and was an expert at woodworking, landscaping, electronics and auto mechanics.
He was active in the LDS church, twice serving as bishop and was a beloved scoutmaster. He also was a missionary in the Central States Mission, then served three missions in the Philippines, where he was a councilor to each of the mission presidents. He was devoted to his family.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; a son, Paul K. Bingham of Encinitas, Calif.; a sister, Bernice Hodges of California; two brothers, Norris Bingham of Utah and Marwood Bingham of Washington; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Carole Kendrick Bingham and Lynette Peterson Bingham.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
