Nora Fagerberg

Nora Fagerberg, 80, of Casa Grande died peacefully on Jan. 9, 2010 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at noon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Fagerberg was born on Nov. 23, 1929 in County Galway, Ireland, and was a daughter of Stephen and Delia Walsh. At age 24 she crossed the Atlantic aboard the first Queen Elizabeth to accept a private nursing position in Missouri. There she met and married Raymond H. Fagerberg, her husband of 55 years. In 1958 they moved to Casa Grande, where they raised their five children. She was a homemaker and was devoted to her family and her Catholic faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Trisha Ridge of Casa Grande, Barbara Chaudoin of Queen Creek and Julie Fagerberg of San Diego; two sons, Brian Fagerberg of Casa Grande and Paul Fagerberg of Gilbert; four sisters, Ellen Macdonnell of Letterfrack, Ireland, Monica McGuiness of Garrison, Ireland, Carmel Moran of New Jersey and Kathleen Madden of Diamond Hill, Ireland; three brothers, Martin Walsh of Letterfrack, Peter Walsh of Sydney, Australia and Paddy Walsh of Letterfrack; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Mary Kelly; and a grandson, Ryan Raymond Fearn.
