Ofelia M. Balderrama, 74 of Maricopa, died June 24, 2021 at home. Ms. Balerrama was born May 8, 1947 in Nayarit, Mexico to Trinidad and Guadalupe Mayorquin. She was a hardworking, single mother, who always looked out for her girls and grandchildren. She started a nursing career at a young age in New Mexico and also worked for Wrangler & Shaw Industries formerly known as Queen Carpet in Yuma, Arizona. She helped out anyone in need and never expected anything in return. She loved sea food and drinking Coke. Her dancing was unique, she loved music and beer. Even through her memory loss she was always proud of her girls. She would always say “Tengo tres, las cuatas y Valeria”
She is survived by her girls, Elizabeth Balderrama, Mayra Balderrama Casillas of Maricopa and Valeri Romero of Yuma, and 8 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maria Isabelle Balderrama.
