BAPCHULE - Oleta Elva Brown, 75, died on Sept. 2, 2018, in Bapchule.
Mrs. Brown was born on Jan. 21, 1943, in Bapchule to Iver Sunna and Irene Hayes. She was caring and loving, and her door was always open to anyone she helped or who needed her.
She had strong faith and was a good listener who would give advice. She was devoted to her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Brown of Bapchule; a son, Delton Brown Sr. of Bapchule; 11 siblings, Vernon Sunna of Casa Blanca, Marshall Sunna of Gila Butte, Gerald Sunna of Sweetwater, Donna Lomaquahu and Beverly Lomadofkie of Blackwater, Eleanor Mattia, Queenie Janay, Ulanda Updoca, Carolyn Cassa and June Davis, all of Casa Blanca, and Cheryl Harrison of Sacaton; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Brown Sr.; two sons, Darrell Brown Sr. and Alfred Brown Jr.; three sisters; and a grandchild.
Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at the District 5 Service Center. Funeral Mass celebrated at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at St. Peter Catholic Church by the Rev. Benedict Lieb. Burial in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
