Olivia Montalvo Rodriguez, 73, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 with her family by her side in Casa Grande, AZ.
She is survived by the love of her life, Tomas Rodriguez, her beloved sons, Chris, Greg, Carlo, Nick, and her two daughters-in-law Teri and Brittany. Her 8 grandchildren will greatly miss her. She is survived by her siblings Connie Jackson, Fernando Montalvo and Carmen Olavarietta of Arizona City, AZ; Janie Fernandez, Joe Montalvo, Frank Montalvo and Mary Alejandro of Casa Grande, AZ; and Norberto Montalvo of Union City, CA; She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Marta Montalvo, and her brothers Pete Montalvo and Jesse Montalvo.
Olivia was born on June 11, 1946 in Harlingen, Texas. She moved to Arizona with her family where she fell in love with Tomas and they built a life and a family. She was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was fiercely protective of her family and was definitely a force to be reckoned with. She was everyone's go-to person and fixer. She always let you know that she believed in you, cared about you and was there for you. She was known by everyone for her outgoing, warm and friendly personality. Her smile and laughter could light up any room she entered.
She spent much of her life actively helping her community of Stanfield, especially Stanfield School. She served on and helped lead the school board for over thirty years. Recently she was inducted to the Stanfield School Hall of Fame.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church in Casa Grande, AZ on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10 AM.
