CASA GRANDE - Ollie Evelyn Durant, 81, of Casa Grande died on July 4, 2016, at Banner-University Medical Center in Phoenix.
Mrs. Durant was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Eva (Oliver) Buckner. She worked at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center (now Banner Casa Grande) for 33 years and was very loving and kindhearted. When not working, she loved cooking for anyone who came to her house, nap times with her dogs and showing off her trophy-winning 1949 Chevy pickup, originally owned by her father and restored by her husband.
She was a life member of Desert Country Musicians as well as a diehard Diamondbacks fan. She loved her family very much.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Virgil L.; four daughters and a son, Elaine Martin, Susan DeLeon, Jimmy Durant, Virginia Canfield and Carol Durant; two sisters, Lorene Harris and Clara Pritchet; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and RB Buckner, and a grandson, Billy Canfield.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Morris Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
