VALLEY FARMS - Olly Cantrell, 74, of Valley Farms died on March 2, 2015.
The celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florence, with Bishop Ryan Michel officiating.
Mr. Cantrell was born on Sept. 13, 1940, in Fuget, Kentucky, and was a son of Fonzie and Mable Cantrell. He was a Teletype operator in the military and later owned a towing yard. He came to Arizona in 1981 and was very friendly and well known in the Coolidge, Valley Farms and Florence area. He loved his community and was very generous. He loved his family and especially his grandbabies, and he was a "father to many."
He loved anything to do with cars and enjoyed sports, including golf, basketball and bowling. Also a carpenter, he built houses earlier in his life. He enjoyed hunting and loved his dogs.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Ronda; three sons, Jason Cantrell and Travis Armstrong of Florence and Dusty Cantrell of Valley Farms; a daughter, Toni Cantrell of Florence; a brother, Bob A. Cantrell of Fuget; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Cantrell, and a sister, Judy Castle.
