Opal M. Olson, 95, of Casa Grande died May 17, 2007 at home.
A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m. today at The Garnet of Casa Grande, with the Rev. Robert Burdett officiating.
Mrs. Olson was born April 28, 1912 in Leedy, Okla., to Murray C. and Emma M. (Cooper) Meyer. She lived most of her life in Iowa and worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 39 years, retiring as chief operator. She moved to Casa Grande in 1984, living in Casa Verde Estates before moving to The Garnet in 1999. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande.
Survivors include a half-brother, Walter Meyer; a stepson and stepdaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Philo Bensene; her second husband, Herman "Doc" Olson; two brothers, Harold and Sherman Meyer; and two sisters, Orpha Black and Juanita Achenbach.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Olson's name to The Garnet.
