Opal Marie Monroe, 77, of Casa Grande died July 10, 2008 in Casa Grande.
Ms. Monroe was born May 21, 1931 in Seven Pines, W.Va., and was a daughter of Okie Higginbotham and Sarah Stevens. She was an assembly line worker and lived in Phoenix for 35 years. She lived the last 11 years in Casa Grande. She attended Trinity Southern Baptist Church and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed needlework, quilting and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Alicia Monroe and Rhonda O'Connor of Casa Grande; a son, Joseph M. Monroe of Phoenix; three brothers, Joe J. Higginbotham of Phoenix, Okie Higginbotham of West Virginia and Ralph Higginbotham of Louisiana; four sisters, Icie Efaw of West Virginia, Katherine Dingus of Pennsylvania, Jessie Richardson of Maryland and Pearl Seabra of Illinois; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
