AJO - Orlando Sanora Celaya, 87, died on Aug. 4, 2013, at his daughter’s home in West Fort Worth, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Douglass Funeral Home in Ajo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ajo Cemetery.
Mr. Celaya was born in Los Angeles on Feb. 15, 1926, to Jesus and Delfina Celaya. He married Norma Hoge in 1952. He loved to work and had many different talents. During the early days of his career, he was hired by Phelps Dodge Corporation and worked 38 years as a plumber and pipefitter. After he retired, he continued to work and dedicated 10 more years as a pipefitter for Hughes Aircraft Company in Fullerton, Calif.
He had many interests and hobbies. In his younger days, he loved to dance with his wife. Throughout the years he loved to work in his yard and garden and had a green thumb. The most important thing in his life was his love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; a daughter, Angie Celaya; a son, Gus Celaya; and three grandchildren.
