Owen "Tony" Mattia

AK-CHIN - Owen Anthony "Tony" Mattia, 55, died on June 24, 2014, at Caring House in Sacaton.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ak-Chin Service Center. The celebration of life will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Carlos Marin and Brother Jeff Lynch will officiate.

Mr. Mattia was born on Jan. 29, 1959, in Sacaton. He was a dialysis technician and a member of Christian Fellowship of Waukegan, Illinois, very active in its program. He also was an artist who enjoyed painting and making jewelry. He enjoyed performing the traditional dances of his heritage and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Francisco and Armida Mattia of Ak-Chin; his mother and stepfather, Louella and Le Roy Narcia of Ak-Chin; four sisters, Janice Mattia of Maricopa, Martha Mattia-Watson of Arizona City, Cynthia White of Stanfield and Joanna Smith of Casa Grande; a stepsister, Rosie Narcia of Ak-Chin; two brothers, Del Roy Narcia of Ak-Chin and Leonard Mattia of San Lucy; four stepbrothers, Dwayne and Franklin Sam, Joseph and Robert Narcia, all of Ak-Chin; and many nieces and nephews.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
