ARIZONA CITY - Pablo Buitrin Garza, 73, of Arizona City died on Jan. 22, 2014, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Casa Grande.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Garza was born on Feb. 14, 1940, in Robstown, Texas, and was a son of Pablo Garza and Helen Buitrin. He served in the National Guard and worked in construction as a mason. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to dance and listen to music. He also enjoyed playing pool, racing cars, telling stories and making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Mary M.; five sons, Paul Garza of Casa Grande, Ernie Garza of Oceanside, Calif., Sam Garza of Pittsburgh, Eddie and Gilbert Tapia Jr. of Arizona City; three daughters, Sarah Snow of Arizona City, Patsy Tapia of Casa Grande and Paula Jaramillo of Phoenix; two brothers, Nick and Ruben Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sisters, Yolanda, Mary and Rosie Garza, all of Corpus Christi; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Edward Tapia Jr.
