Patricia Anne Petroski

May 30, 1945 — July 2, 2024

Casa Grande

Patricia (“Pat”) Anne Petroski, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on July 2, 2024. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Petroski; parents, Francis and Antoinette (“Toni”) Shove; brother, John Shove; and nephew, Brian Shove.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Dionne Butler (Tucson, Arizona); brother and best friend, Charles Shove (Arroyo Grande, California); niece, Marcie Merksamer (Sedona, Arizona); nephew-in-law, Jeff Merksamer (Prescott Valley, Arizona); nephew, Stephen Shove (Cottonwood, Arizona); and sister-in-law, Helen Shove (Acworth, Georgia). She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter and traveling companion, Delanie Duvall and her family – Kelly and Ari Duvall. Pat cherished all of “her girls” who she loved as if they were her own daughters. Pat was a Registered Nurse who retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson where she was a critical care nurse.

Pat enjoyed volunteering and had served on the Board of Directors with Horizon Human Services, volunteered with Against Abuse and the Taste of Casa Grande fundraising event, Pinal County Juvenile Justice Panel and Banner Casa Grande Hospital.

One of Pat’s favorite expressions was “All who wander are not lost”, as she was an avid wanderer/traveler and did her best to see as much of the world as possible. Her favorite place other than her home was Galway, Ireland. When not traveling, she enjoyed her home and yard, reading, beading, making pottery, paper quilling, baking and spending time with her family and friends. Pat loved life and a good time, with a twisted sense of humor! She embraced her Irish heritage and was known for saying, “If I’m not laughing…stand back!”. She enjoyed helping other women, and particularly supporting them in becoming stronger and independent. One of her superpowers was connecting with people and she had a vast network of friends that she loved and enjoyed. Pat will be sincerely missed by her family and many friends.

   J. Warren Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
