CASA GRANDE - Patrick Harvey Dykes, 81, of Casa Grande died at home on Oct. 2, 2019.
Mr. Dykes was born on Oct. 24, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, to J. Harvey and Elizabeth (Pankratz) Dykes. He was the owner of Patrick’s Antique Cars and an expert on 1937 to 1955 Chevy half-ton trucks, and engines up to 1962. His new ideas and products were included in major car magazines - Hemmings Motor News, Classic Trucks and others.
He had a degree from Harding University in history and Greek and served as a youth minister in Oklahoma City and Wichita, Kansas, for the Church of Christ in the 1960s. He served in the Army as a medic at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. His career included being a delegate to Washington for small business.
He is survived by his companion and love, Danese Dykes, whom he married on Sept. 5, 1961; a son, Phillip H. Dykes; two daughters, Cynthia Rogers and Rebecca Sutton; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Nov. 9 at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The family requests that those attending ride or drive their motorcycle or classic car or truck to the service.
