Patrick Ray Luther

SACATON - Patrick Ray Luther Sr., 58, of Sacaton died on April 21, 2020.

Mr. Luther was born on Sept. 2, 1961, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Donna and Samuel F. Luther Sr. Also known as "Mr. Pat," he worked as a bus driver and teacher at Gila River Head Start Early Childhood Program for 25-plus years, then as its family advocate before retiring.

He dedicated his days after retirement to spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked taking his beloved dog, Quinn, for long rides in his truck. He was known for his love of attending concerts and was a diehard fan of rap artist Tech N9ne and reggae band Rebelution.

Survivors include a daughter, Denine "Cewa" Luther; a sister, Lisa Luther Eschief; a brother, Stephen Luther, all of Sacaton; his stepfather, Cedric Stone; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Luther Jr.; his parents; four brothers; and one grandchild.

Wake service beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at 43 Cactus Street in Sacaton. Graveside service at 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, in Vah Ki Cemetery, Casa Blanca.
