Jack Mathieu
ARIZONA CITY — Paul Jacque “Jack” Mathieu, 73, of Arizona City died on Nov. 14, 2009 at Hospice Compassus in Casa Grande after a long battle with cancer.
A private service is planned.
Mr. Mathieu was born on March 12, 1936 in Oak Park, Ill., to Eloyse E. Quayle and Paul J. Mathieu. He attended high school there and later served in the Army. He and his family moved to Arizona City in 1962. He spent most of his working career in various equipment maintenance jobs at Lakeshore Mine, 32 miles south of Casa Grande. He began there with El Paso Natural Gas Company and retired as a maintenance supervisor for later owner Cyprus Minerals Co. in 1993. He was a car enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Bernice, and two daughters, Debbie Francois of Gilbert and Vicki Gee of Houston.
