ELOY — Paul G. Macias Jr., 64, of Tucson died on Dec. 29, 2011.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix.
Mr. Macias was born on Sept. 24, 1947, in Gonzales, Texas, to Nancy and Paul Macias Sr. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and kept the horror of war within him. He was in and out of veterans hospitals with a liver condition and hepatitis C, which he believed came from a transfusion after he was injured in Vietnam. He was a proud veteran and enjoyed helping people.
Survivors include three sons, Colt S. Macias of Tucson, Pete Villalobos of Arizona City and Paul Macias III of Salinas, Calif.; two daughters, Nancy Poindexter of Tucson and Sylvia Calvillo of Casa Grande; his father, of Casa Grande; four brothers, Robert, Lupe and Margarito Macias, all of California, and Rudy Juarez of New Mexico; three sisters, Mary Juarez, Yolanda and Pauline Macias, all of California; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Ruben Macias; and a sister, Martha Macias.
