Peter Alvin Marquis

Peter Marquis, 73, passed away on January 29th, at his home in Casa Grande, Arizona.

He was born on October 5th, 1949, in Goshen, Indiana, to Herman "Pete" and Rosemary (Greiner) Marquis.

Pete is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda, in Casa Grande, son, Drew of Los Mochis, Mexico, sisters, Jane (Larry) Rowe, Janet (Herbert) Hoover, both in Goshen, Indiana, and Marilyn Saal of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Along with his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sister Anne, and niece, Cari Osborn.

Pete earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University in elementary education and a master's degree from Purdue North Central. He taught 36 years with the LaPorte Community School Corporation. Along with his joy of teaching, he coached many sports with football being a favorite.

He was an avid Notre Dame fan and had season tickets to the basketball games. Pete enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to music, collecting Coke-Cola memorabilia and German made Santa Smokers. During the summer months, he took great pleasure in boating, water skiing and swimming. After retirement, he and Linda enjoyed traveling.

In 2017, Pete and Linda moved to Casa Grande, Arizona. They attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Pete was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Cremation has taken place at J. Warren Funeral Services. There will be no memorial service.
