Peter Smith

BLACKWATER — A graveside service for Peter G. Smith, 71, of Blackwater will be held at 7 a.m. Friday in West Blackwater Cemetery, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating.
Mr. Smith was born on March 21, 1940, in Blackwater and died more than a year ago, on Aug. 12, 2011, in Casa Grande. He was a son of Lizzie and James Smith Sr. He was a farmworker and was a happy person who was always talking to someone and smiling. He enjoyed riding his bike, listening to country-western music and being with his dogs.
Survivors include a brother, James Smith Jr. of Blackwater, and two sisters, Phyllis Smith of Blackwater and Percilia Alston of Bakersfield, Calif.
