Petre Casas Sanchez

CASA GRANDE - Petra Casas Sanchez, 95, died on Oct. 3, 2018, in Phoenix.

Mrs. Sanchez was born to Jesus Casas and Altagracia Saldivar in El Paso, Texas, on Aug. 1, 1923. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed sewing for her family, gardening and cooking. She was an avid Diamondbacks fan and enjoyed going to casinos. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and Guadalupanas.

Survivors include two daughters and a son, Maria Montoya of Phoenix, Mary Hinojosa of Casa Grande and Louis Sanchez of Casa Grande; two siblings, Martina and Roberto Casas of Mexico; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H.; two sons, Jesus and Antonio Sanchez; a sister; three brothers; and a grandson, Andy Hinojosa.

Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9:30. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
