Phillip "Phil" Wright

VALLEY FARMS - Phillip Esby "Phil" Wright, 61, of Valley Farms died at home on July 7, 2014.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Jerry Rotan officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Wright was born on Jan. 18, 1953, in Tucson. He was a state corrections officer in Florence for 20 years before retirement. His family always came first, and he liked to hunt, camp, fish, joke and play practical jokes on people.

Always laughing, he also loved to ride horses, loved his grandchildren and loved the Lord. A devout Christian, he was a member of First Assembly of God and loved watching the sun set and taking pictures.

Survivors include a son, Clayton Wright; two daughters, Stacie Navarro of Coolidge and Michelle Wright of Valley Farms; a brother, Dale Canamore of Eloy; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman "Chet" and Lois Wright, and two sisters, Betty Ann Chicky and Ruth Sylvester.
