Phyllis Brenna Lewis, 69, died on Dec. 21, 2022. Mrs. Lewis was born on Jan. 19, 1953, in Sacaton to Phillip Baptisto and Rebecca Thomas.
She enjoyed spending time with all her grandkids, had a good, caring and loving heart, and would give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
She studied at Central Arizona College to work with kids and help homeless people as well. She was a member of the Gila River Community elderly program, with the name Mighty Turtles. She enjoyed watching soap operas, dancing, listening to oldies music and playing card games with her family. She was fun, full of life, easy to talk to and drew everyone in with her easy-going, loving heart.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, George; a son, Orlando Lewis; two siblings, Consuella Narcia and Betty Lou Bolden; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Jamie and Melaine Chiago, and 10 siblings, Raphael, Flora, Mary, Caroline and Bennett Baptisto, Leo and Laverne Bolden, Harriet Thomas, Rosalie Narcia and Genevieve Hone.
Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, at the family home, 47653 W. Farrell Road. Funeral Mass celebrated at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission. Burial in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
