Pilar Villescaz

ELOY — Pilar Villescaz, 97, of Eloy died on Jan. 6, 2022.

Mrs. Villescaz was born to Zacarias and Antonia Vejar on July 13, 1924. She loved sewing, singing and dancing. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her little plants.

She was devoted to her family and a great seamstress, and that was her passion. She loved to cook, and everyone loved her homemade enchiladas and tortillas. She also enjoyed her pet cockatiel, Reno, as he would sing to her all the time.

She is survived by five daughters, Ramona, Lupe, Mary, Paula and Sylvia; two sons, Demetrio Jr. and Joe; 37 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrio Villescaz Sr.; three sons, Nestor, Zack and Frankie; a daughter, Rosie; and a brother, Ernesto.

Visitation beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy. Rosary recited at 10:30 at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass celebrated at 11. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.
