Placido Raymond Rojas Jr.

Placido Raymond Rojas Jr., age 62, of Coolidge, passed away peacefully at home on May, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Placido was born on November 27, 1961, in Florence to Placido Sr. and Aurelia Rojas. Known affectionately as "Pelon" to friends and family, he was a diligent and dedicated individual from a young age. His early days were spent working on the farm, a passion he cherished throughout his life.

A man of varied musical tastes, Placido enjoyed Classic Rock, Mariachi music, The Eagles, and old country melodies. He found solace in driving through the cotton fields and around Picacho Lake while listening to his favorite tunes. He loved reminiscing about his childhood adventures with his children and grandchildren, Placido also took pleasure in passing on his mechanical skills to his sons and imparting farming knowledge.

Sharing quality time with his sons included target shooting sessions and unwavering support for the Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns games. Amongst his cherished chili plants, which he tended to with care, Placido's heart belonged to salsa made just right and a sip of Crown Royal when day turned into dusk. Ever the pillar of support for his loved ones, all six sisters found solace in his helping hand at a moment's notice.

In May of 1996, Placido married his wife Christine. He is survived by her and their children Frances M Garcia, Jack D Smith, Alejandro T Rojas, and Placido R Rojas III; his mother Aurelia Rojas; sisters Hope Garcia (Tony), Terri Pina, Mary Macazan (Angel), Margie Rodriguez (David), Rebecca Duarte (Ricardo), and Alice Rojas; sixteen grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; as well as Godchildren.

Placido is preceded in death by his father Placido Rojas Sr., and one grandson, Angel Baby Acuna. He will be deeply missed by a wide circle of family members and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and generosity.
