MARICOPA — Priscilla Torres, 69, of Maricopa died on Nov. 4, 2009.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Torres was born on Oct. 6, 1940 in Bakersfield, Calif., and was a daughter of Lola and Manuel Cruz Sr. She was a homemaker and loved to teach and tutor children. She taught English and Spanish to whoever needed help. She especially enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren her “domestic engineering” skills. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Tempe and taught her faith to others.
Survivors include her husband, Carlos; two daughters, Lupita Y. Torres of Redwood City, Calif., and Elizabeth Cuneo of Bethel, Conn.; two sisters, Mary E. Espinosa of Dublin, Calif., and Anita Zaragoza of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Manuel Cruz Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Torres, and a brother, Daniel Cruz Sr
