Ramon Carrillo-Gonzalez, 82, of Blackwater, peacefully passed away at home on October 16, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on March 25, 1942, in, Mexico, he was the son of Vicente Carrillo and Apolonia Gonzalez.

Ramon dedicated his life to the cattle industry, finding his passion as a Pen Rider. He worked tirelessly for over 30 years, beginning with Clayton Cattle Co, continuing at Pinal Feeding Co, and ultimately retiring from McElhaney Feeding Yard. Throughout his career, he instilled his knowledge and love for livestock in his children and granddaughter, teaching them the proper care and handling of a variety of animals including pigs, goats, cattle, and horses. His belief in hard work and the value of getting one’s hands dirty shone through in every endeavor he undertook.

In addition to his work with livestock, Ramon had a deep appreciation for gardening and was known for his innovative spirit. He found purpose in staying busy and made the most of every resource, ensuring that nothing went to waste. He was not only a dedicated worker but also a loving father, leaving a lasting impact on those he cared for.

Ramon is survived by his daughter, Olivia Quiroz; his son, Sheldon Blackwater; four granddaughter, one brother and one sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Johnson Carrillo, a son, Delvin Blackwater and four siblings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, beginning at 8:30 AM, followed by a service at 9:30 AM at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel. Burial will take place afterward at West Blackwater Cemetery.
