ELOY — Ramon "Tata" Acuna, 75, of Eloy died on Dec. 6, 2012, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Acuna was born on March 25, 1937, in Eloy and was a son of Francisco and Rosa Acuna. He was a self-employed musician and also music director for many years at St. Helen's Church. He taught mariachi music at Santa Cruz Valley Union High School and Eloy Junior High. He enjoyed his family, especially the young children, and his family and his music were his life. He always had a smile and was very friendly to everyone.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Eloisa; two daughters, Lydia Acuna of Eloy and Yolanda Huynh of Chandler; a brother, Frank Acuna of Eloy; a sister, Celia Montijo of Eloy ; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Armando and Eugene Acuna, and a grandson, Amos J. Rodriguez. Sister Carmen Madrid passed away Dec. 7, 2012. J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
