Raul Cordova "Shorty" Ramirez, 62, of Chandler died on July 6, 2015, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Ramirez was born on July 17, 1952, and was a son of Pedro Ramirez and Katie Cordova. He was a welder and mechanic and owned businesses, including a body shop and one manufacturing gates and fences.
He loved to help his family, dance, fix things, have family barbecues, watch boxing and cook. He was a Cardinals fan but always a Dolphins fan at heart and always tried to make people laugh. Family and friends meant the world to him.
Survivors include his wife, Erica; two sons, Robert and Raul Pedro Ramirez of Casa Grande; two daughters, Victoria and Neveah Ramirez of Casa Grande; two brothers, Eddie Ramirez of Casa Grande and David Ramirez of Phoenix; four sisters, Rosa Ruiz of Denver, Romelia Zepeda of Sacramento, California, Alice Ramirez of Chandler and Clara Ruiz of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chente and Pete Ramirez Jr.
