Raul Ramos Salazar

ELOY - Raul Ramos Salazar, 78, of Eloy died March 7, 2009 at home.


Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Salazar was born July 27, 1930 in San Pedro, Mexico, and was a son of Acencion and Mercedes Salazar. He was a farm laborer. He loved being around his family, having cook-outs and taking care of his trees and plants.

Survivors include his wife, Juana; three daughters, Teresa Salazar and Francisca Tarango of Salinas, Calif., and Mercedes Salazar of Eloy; six sons, Gabriel Salazar of Bloomington, Calif., Jesus Salazar of El Paso, Texas, Daniel, Jose J. and Raul Salazar Jr., all of Eloy, and Mario Salazar of Casa Grande; two sisters, Raquel and Josefa Salazar of Mexico; three brothers, Santiago Salazar of Homestead, Fla., Alfonso and Luis Salazar of Mexico; 28 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ninfa Cervantes, and a son, Juan Salazar.
