Raymond Anton "Ray" Zak

CASA GRANDE - Raymond Anton "Ray" Zak, 70, of Casa Grande died on June 22, 2019.

Mr. Zak was a son of Joseph and Henrietta Zak and had a 36-year career in elevator maintenance and construction. He also taught basic tracing circuitry and computer systems and applications in elevators for 18 years. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and taught safe boating classes.

After retiring, he and his wife moved to Casa Grande and quickly became active in the community. He volunteered with the Casa Grande Police Department as a certified fingerprint technician and was a volunteer with Citizens on Patrol. He also assisted with traffic investigations. He later became an NRA-certified instructor for On Sight Shooting, working with range safety and shooting. He was a Master Mason, and he and his wife were the worthy patron and worthy matron of the Casa Grande Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the oldest continuing military order, Knights Templar, in existence since 1099. During his life he touched the hearts of many.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Kathy; a daughter, Debra Lombardi of Staten Island, New York; a son, Timothy Zak of Casa Grande; two siblings, Janet Bardsley of Florida and Clair Zak of New York; and one grandson.

Memorial service later at Pinal Masonic Lodge 30.
