ARIZONA CITY - Raymond Eugene "Ray" Clay, 66, of Arizona City and a longtime Casa Grande businessman, died at home on Aug. 16, 2016.
Mr. Clay was born on Dec. 29, 1949, in Missouri and was a son of Fred and Wanda June Clay. He established RC Towing in 1983 and operated it on West Cottonwood Lane since 1996. He received six Ace Awards for excellent service, was named to the Order of Towman in 2012 and received the WreckMaster Certified Level 2/3.
He spent countless hours with his sons Jeff and Tony teaching them everything he knew about the towing industry. He also enjoyed racing, classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He helped countless operators and stranded motorists and was known for "going the extra mile."
Survivors include his wife, Lynda L.; two daughters, Amy Beaudoin of Oregon and Crystal Carlberg of Iowa; two sons, Aaron Neumann of Casa Grande and Tony Clay of Tempe; two sisters, Linda Brady of California and Beverly Vest of Iowa; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Clay; a brother, Freddie Clay Jr.; and two sisters, Deana Boyer and Gail Clay.
Memorial donations may be made to the International Towing & Recovery Survivor Fund.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 11.
