Raymond Harvey Sr., 55, of Bapchule, passed away on August 30, 2024 in Chandler. He was born on November 1, 1968, in Sacaton, to Arthur Harvey and Nada Manuel.
Raymond was a dedicated father, remembered lovingly by his family as one of the men of all time. He began working as a provider for his family at the young age of 14, and he took great pride in caring for his children. Raymond cherished spending time with his grandchildren, forging deep connections that brought joy to his life.
An adept handyman, he had the remarkable ability to fix anything that was broken, and he enjoyed working on cars as a beloved hobby. With a generous spirit and a big heart, Raymond was known for his kindness and willingness to help others, often giving away more than he had. His sense of humor was infectious, and he had an exceptional talent for making people laugh, even in difficult times. He also enjoyed watching science fiction movies and shows, listening to a diverse range of music including oldies, alternative, rock, and reggae, and frequently visited casinos with his sisters.
Raymond is survived by his children: Rayleana Harvey, Rachel Harvey, Raymond Harvey Jr., Kristina Manuel-Vavages, and Suzette Lewis; his siblings, Jeanette and Margaret Harvey; and ten grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy and memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Nicholas Harvey.
A wake honoring Raymond will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 6:00 PM at District 5 Multipurpose Building in Casa Blanca. A mass will take place the following morning at 6:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Mission in Bapchule, with a burial service to follow at Sacate Cemetery.
