RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Raymond J. Marrietta, 69, of Riverside died on May 1, 2017, just three days after his brother Clarence of Casa Grande.
Mr. Marrietta was born on April 27, 1948, in Sacaton to Anastasia and Joseph Marrietta Sr. He loved his family very much and enjoyed bowling in his early years.
He took great pride in his Civil Service work and was a dormitory counselor at Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, where he was very influential with the students. He touched the lives of many.
Survivors include three adult children, Dwight, Jennifer and Wilford "Willie" Marrietta; four siblings, Michael Marrietta Sr., Bernard and Francisco Marrietta and Manuelita Youyestewa; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalyn, and seven siblings, Clarence Marrietta, Juanita Phillips, Cecilia, Anthony P., Thomas, Manuel and Joseph Marrietta Jr.
Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at St. Anthony Catholic Mission in Sacaton, with a wake following at Cynthia Phillips' home, 19 Seed Farm Road. Funeral Mass celebrated at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at St. Anthony Mission. Burial in Sacaton East Cemetery.
