Raymond Spottswood Pierce, 87, of Casa Grande died on Aug. 19, 2015, at home.
Mr. Pierce was born on July 22, 1928, in Ayden, North Carolina, and was a son of Sam Pierce and Burruss Saul. He served in the Air Force for 12 years, including during the Korean War, and was a technical sergeant. He later was a transportation manager.
He loved his family and was a great role model, living with hope, joy and love. He was a member of Logos Center in Scottsdale and enjoyed watching Fox News and NASCAR. He had a big heart and loved life and spending time with friends and family. He would donate anything to others if he felt it necessary.
Survivors include two daughters, Chanda L. Cooper of Casa Grande and Susan I. Campbell of Jasper, Florida; three sons, Raymond Stephen "Steve" Pierce of DeBary, Florida, Jeffery B. Pierce of Lincoln, California, and Gary W. Pierce of Jacksonville, Florida; a stepdaughter, Sherry Jorgensen of Germantown, Maryland; a stepson, Leslie O’Dell of Frederick, Maryland; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie M., and four brothers.
The celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Cooper home.
