ELOY - Raymond Thomas Valentine, 82, of Eloy died on Feb. 15, 2018, at home.
Mr. Valentine was born on Nov. 4, 1935, in Sells to Sam and Martha (Juan) Valentine. He and his wife, Mary, celebrated 61 years of marriage. They met and married in Ajo, where he was a heavy equipment operator for 35 years at the Phelps Dodge mine.
He later continued his career with Cyprus Amax Minerals for 10 years in Sahuarita before retiring. He enjoyed reading books, watching football and fishing and was devoted to his family.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Christine Trevino and Genevieve Valentine-Davis of Eloy; a son, Anthony Valentine of Eloy; a sister, Lillian Fayuant of Tucson; two brothers, Phillip Valentine of Pisinemo Village and Fernando Valentine of Topawa Village; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Patricia Molina, Rosaleen and Karen Valentine, and a son, James Valentine.
Traditional runner escort at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 at Pisinemo Feast House, with rosary and visitation following. Burial at 5 p.m. in Pisinemo Cemetery.
