BAPCHULE - Raymond White Jr., 68, of Bapchule died on Dec. 3, 2016 at Caring House in Sacaton.
Mr. White was born on March 7, 1948, in Sacaton to Raymond White Sr. and Gladys Violet Lamore. Sometimes called "Squeak," he took care of three grandsons. Before he stepped up to the role of guardian he was a member of the Casa Blanca Recreation Committee, where he helped facilitate numerous activities for members of his community.
He made many friends when he was actively involved with the elders in Blackwater, District 1, of the Gila River Indian Community. He was an Ex-Offender Program counselor and helped guide individuals back on track. He loved to cook for his family and dance and was a great cumbia partner.
He is survived by his wife, Belen A. Rendondo; three sons and a daughter, Raymond French Sr., Rodrick French, Nicole White and Snyder Lee White Sr., all of Casa Blanca; six brothers and sisters, Lawrence White Sr., Roger White Sr., Ramona White, James White, Tina Orona and Robert Orona, all of Casa Blanca; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Leola Garcia. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Jonathan White Sr., Deborah and Lee White.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at the Vah-Ki Multipurpose Building in Casa Blanca. The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at Casa Blanca Baptist Church, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
