Rebecca Liggett

Rebecca Katherine "Becky" Liggett, 59, of Casa Grande died at home on May 13, 2012.
Ms. Liggett was born on Aug. 7, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Ashland (Ohio) University and continued her education at Arizona State University. In 1976 she began a teaching career at Saguaro Elementary School in Casa Grande. She dedicated the next 27 years to educating second-graders, touching many children and their families. After her retirement in 2004, she was involved in many Casa Grande community activities, including phone patrol and hospice. She had many friends and a lifelong love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joan Liggett, and her longtime companion, Dick Hudson. She is survived by two sisters, Ann Liggett of Sarasota, Fla., and Emily Wagner of Canfield, Ohio; a niece; and a nephew.
No service will be held at Ms. Liggett's request. A celebration of life will be held later.
