Refugia "Cuca" Nevarez Yubeta

CASA GRANDE - Refugia "Cuca" Nevarez Yubeta, 93, died on April 9, 2020, in Casa Grande after a battle of 11 years with Alzheimer’s disease.

Ms. Yubeta was born on Oct. 14, 1926, in Pearsall, Texas, and was a daughter of Guadalupe and Olivia Aguilar Nevarez. She was known for her caring heart, immeasurable care for others and unique sense of humor.

She also had a love for dancing and music and cooked everything from scratch. Her family and friends would argue that it was the best Mexican food around.

Survivors include five daughters and sons, Olivia Yubeta Hammons, Velma Escarsega, Carlos Yubeta, Fernando Yubeta Jr. and Victor Yubeta; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Rodriguez and Maria Tejada; a brother, Ray Nevarez; and a son, Markey Yubeta.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
