Refujio J. Martinez, 82, of Casa Grande died on June 11, 2012, at home.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 by the Rev. John Arnold. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Martinez was born on April 28, 1930, in Dona Ana, N.M., and was a son of Librado Martinez and Felicitas Jurado. He was the original owner of Cuco's Place bar in downtown Casa Grande and enjoyed ranching and raising and racing quarter horses. He also was a farm labor contractor for Gila River Farms and was a volunteer sheriff's deputy for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church and served as an usher for many years.
Survivors include five daughters, Maria Martinez of Gilbert, Teresa Munoz, Gloria Martinez and Esther Moreno, all of Casa Grande, and Angelina Hernandez of Eloy; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josefina; a brother, Rito Villalon; and a grandson, Ignacio Armenta Jr.
