Reverend Edward Eugene Wooten

Reverend Edward Eugene Wooten was born June 8, 1953 in Urbana, Ohio to Rev. Joseph E and Ruth Wooten.  He went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2023.  He is survived in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Liz); four children, Scott Allen Wooten, Paul Edward Wooten, Christopher Lee Wooten and Ramee Rene Cardenas; one sister, Cindra Poling of West Mansfield, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, sister, Bonnimarie Caudle; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Rev. Edward Wooten pastored Eloy First Assembly of God for 29 years.  During those years, he also drove the school bus for Eloy Elementary and Picacho Elementary Schools.  He also did maintenance at Picacho School and was maintenance supervisor for several of those years.  He was on the staff at Thibodaux First Assembly of God in Thibodaux, Louisiana; Winkleman Assembly of God in Winkleman, Arizona and at Glad Tidings Assembly of God church in Tucson, Arizona.  He was Royal Ranger Senior Commander at Thibodaux First Assembly of God and at Glad Tidings Assembly of God.  Mr. Wooten proudly served his country in the U.S Navy from 1971 - 1975 in Vietnam.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00a.m on Saturday September 23, 2023 at the First Assembly of God Church, 230 W. Battaglia Road, Eloy, Arizona.
