Rex Douglas Gross

September 18, 1954 to December 11, 2024

Rex Douglas Gross, 70, of Salem, Oregon and Casa Grande, Arizona, died on December 11, 2024 at Banner Medical Center in Casa Grande with his wife, Marilyn, by his side.

Rex was born on September 18, 1954 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Douglas and Ida Mae Gross.

Rex joined the Air Force directly out of high school in the summer of 1973 and spent 22 years in service to his country.

He loved to travel, he loved the ocean for fishing, crabbing, and whale watching as he and Marilyn lived in Waldport, OR for eight years. Rex had a very nice singing voice and enjoyed singing on Karaoke nights.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Koch Gross; a daughter, Laura Gross Bennett (Howard), three sons; Jordan Gross (Teigh), Cory Gross, and Steven Gross; two step sons,Stephen Heise (Ashley) and Jeffrey Heise (Katie). Jeff and Steve loved him as their father and will miss him dearly. Also survived by his sister Becky Bushey, brother Russel Gross and sister Peggy Hale.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Kathy Gross.

Cremation will be accorded. Services with full military honors will be held at Zion Cemetery in Canby, Oregon at a later date.
