BAPCHULE - Reynaldo Charles "Rey" Alvarez, 56, of Bapchule died on Jan. 22, 2016, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.
Visitation will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Ak-Chin Service Center. The graveside service will be at 8 a.m. Saturday in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
Mr. Alvarez was born on Oct. 19, 1959, in Casa Grande. He worked at Frito-Lay and in other jobs. Most recently he was a maintenance manager for the Ak-Chin Indian Community, where he was a tribal member.
He traveled with his wife on weekends "wherever the Lord called" them to do their ministry. Other times they traveled for fun out of state. He loved watching the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Survivors include his wife of six years, Tiffany R.; a son, Havier Alvarez of Ak-Chin; a daughter, Lisa Miller of Maricopa; his mother, Delphine M. Stephens Vasquez of Ak-Chin; a sister, Elvera Stephens of Ak-Chin; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dolores T. Alvarez, and a brother, David Alvarez.
