BLACKWATER - Rhoda Smiley, 82, of Blackwater died Dec. 26, 2008 in Phoenix.


Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday at the family home. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 10 in Squaw Bush Cemetery.

Mrs. Smiley was born in Blackwater and was a daughter of Henry and Lola Enos. She was a dietician. She enjoyed country music, especially oldies, puzzle books, sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening and being outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was active in the local senior center and was known for her sense of humor, telling jokes and laughing often. She enjoyed travel and went to many places.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gary; 10 daughters, Brenda Hall of Blackwater, Paula Murrietta of Sacaton, Sherrie Smiley of Whiteriver, Sandra Smiley of Blackwater, Cynthia Ross of Sacaton, Joan Smiley of Parker, Dionne Smiley of Blackwater, Janell Smiley of Sacaton, Rolanda Dawahoya and Dawn Smiley of Blackwater; 41 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.
