Richard Joseph "Leegee" Andrews, 53, of Casa Grande died on Feb. 4, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley Dobson House in Chandler.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. today at St. Francis Catholic Mission in Cucklebur Village by the Rev. Bill Minkel. The wake will follow beginning at 8. The graveside service will be at 8 a.m. Saturday in Cucklebur Cemetery.
Mr. Andrews was born on June 29, 1959, in Sacaton. He served as an alternate on the Sif-Oidak District Council and also the education committee. He was a behavioral health technician for Horizon Human Services, and his co-workers called him "Bob." He received an associate degree at Central Arizona College, Level I and II in chemical dependency at Rio Salado Community College and a bachelor's degree in social work at Arizona State University. He touched many people in his work.
He loved watching western movies, WWE's "SmackDown," basketball and football. In his youth he was a baseball center fielder. He enjoyed arts and crafts, his culture and religion.
Survivors include his wife, Olivia Garcia, and a daughter, Richelle Andrews of Casa Grande. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorentine and Amelia Andrews; three brothers; and two sisters.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
