Dick Rice, 81, of Eloy, Arizona passed away on June 17, 2017 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born in Ukiah, CA on August 23, 1935 to Roberta and Lilburn Rice.
Dick played all sports in high school. He later sang bass in the Aqua Pella choir at Chico
State College where he received his degree in civil engineering. Dick served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He served 53 years as a P.E., RLS Civil Engineer and land surveyor in California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho and eventually Arizona. He was a businessman and prominently known through all of Eloy and its surrounding areas. Dick enjoyed riding motorcycles, his boat and airplanes. Above all, he loved his family very much. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and attending family gatherings. Dick impacted so many through his life’s journey and he will be missed.
Dick is survived by his wife, Joy Rice; four sons and their wives: David and Christina Rice, Darin and Heather Rice, John and Stephanie Rice, David and Shirley Tipton; and his four grand- kids: Cheyenne Tipton, Gage Rice, Cole Rice and Remi Rice.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole and Maud, Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, Arizona. Funeral will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Pastor Roy Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at the Eloy Memo- rial Park. Reception will reconvene at J. Warren Funeral Services, Memory Gardens, after the graveside service.
