CASA GRANDE - Richard L. Laudahl, 78, died on Dec. 19, 2017, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.
Mr. Laudahl was born on Dec. 4, 1939, to Walter and Maine Laudahl in Dallas, Oregon. He started his working career with Pacific Power & Light Company (later PacifiCorp) in 1962 and continued for nearly 30 years in various levels of management in Oregon and Washington state before retiring in 1990. He and his wife moved from Medford, Oregon, to Weaverville, California, where he worked for the local electrical utility district as a superintendent. He retired again in 2002 due to his health. He and his wife, Lou, moved to Casa Grande in 2002.
They enjoyed many years together playing golf and tennis and in RV travel. He was an avid reader, a volunteer at Banner Casa Grande, worked at election polls and did census work. He was known as private, unpretentious, gentle, kind and giving.
Survivors include his wife of 31-plus years; two sons, Scott and Sheldon in the Seattle area; a daughter, Julie of Phoenix; a stepson, Jason of Casa Grande; a brother, Bud; two sisters, Pat and Elvia of the Salem, Oregon, area; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
No formal funeral service at his request, but a family gathering may be held later.
