Richard P. Sloman

Richard P. Sloman, 71, passed away on May 12, 2019. He
was born on December 7, 1947 to Frank and Grace Sloman in
San Francisco, California. Richard was an avid golfer, playing in
tournaments in California, Arizona and Nevada. He was a member
of PGA and numerous men’s clubs. During his golfing career he
made many friends. Special acknowledgment to his best friend of
60 years and golfing partner, Duffy Sheridan. His enjoyment for
golfing began at Alameda High School in California and he was
on the Alameda High School golf team. Richard was a devoted
believer in the teachings of the Baha’i Faith for 49 years and
associated with Desert Rose Baha’i Institute in Eloy, Arizona.
He is survived by his spouse, Nancy Sloman of Eloy; his
cousins, Barbara R. Payne of Maryland, Patricia R. Kennedy of
California and Billy Larson of Norway; many cousins; and loving
uncle to nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace
Sloman; his aunts, Berit Rose of California and Helen Larson of
Norway; his cousin, David M. Rose of California.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 16,
2019 at Desert Rose Memorial Gardens in Eloy. Memorial
contributions in memory of Richard Sloman may be made to
Desert Rose Baha’i Institute, 1950 William Sears Drive, Eloy,
Arizona 85131, earmarked for Visual Arts Programs.
