Richard Ramon

FLORENCE - Richard Ramon, 53, of Sacaton Flats died on Oct. 7, 2014, in Sacaton.

The wake will begin at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission in Florence Village, with rosary recited at 7 p.m. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Tuesday in Florence Cemetery, with Deacon Alfred Gonzales officiating.

Mr. Ramon was born on Feb. 20, 1961, in Sacaton. He served in the military and was an artisan who made traditional O’odham items including crafts, sandals and flutes. He loved to laugh and have a good time and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He adored his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed sports and when he was younger, he played basketball, baseball and football.

Survivors include a sister, Felicitas Ramon of Florence, and a brother, Gabriel Ramon of Sacaton. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Elsie Ramon; two brothers, Frederick and Michael J. Ramon; and two sisters, Barbara Ann and Caroline Ramon.
