Richard Wayne Sauppe, age 76, passed away on Sunday, January 19, at the Banner Hospital in Casa Grande, Arizona. Born on October 16, 1948, the son of Donna Jean and the late Richard S. Sauppe, Richard grew up in Stony Creek Mills, PA, and attended Mt. Penn High School. While a student, Richard participated in various intramural sports and served as a Volunteer Member of the Lower Alsace Ambulance Team. In 1968 Richard enlisted in the Air Force, serving our country for 4 years as an Aircraft Fuel Systems Specialist, specializing in Cryogenics, and was honorably discharged in 1972. Following his discharge, Richard returned to PA, first working for Gormley Fire Equipment Company in Reading before relocating to Hatfield as Process Technician in the semiconductor industry at Solid State Scientific. During his time in Hatfield, he met his Partner for Life, Donna Callodonato. In 2002, Richard and Donna moved to Casa Grande, Arizona, cherishing their years together while enjoying the sunny, (no humidity), weather and meeting new friends and neighbors. Rich was not one to sit still. He continued to work on a part-time basis, serving as an operational consultant for the local Waste Management Plant, tow truck driver at the local raceway, had his own electrician business, was a Walmart Warehouseman and aspiring actor (photo proofs to prove it!).
Richard is survived by his loving mother, Donna Jean Sauppe, sisters Donna Lyn Kaisoglus, (John), and Suzanne Elizabeth Steinrock, (Timothy), along with his extended family of 3 nephews, 1 niece and 7 cousins. Arrangements are under the care of the J. Warren Funeral Home, Casa Grande, AZ., with services private as we honor and remember Richard and the lives he touched during his time with us.
