Richard Stanley Schurz

Richard Stanley Schurz passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020. Mr. Schurz was born August 13, 1945 in Keams Canyon, Arizona to Johnny Guerra and Mary Margaret Schurz. He retired after 30 years in US Public Health Service as a Colonel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Richard loved playing golf and was an avid fisherman. He was a man of many stories. Richard loved music, especially Blues and Jazz. He rooted for his favorite "Cardinals." Richard loved his family, especially his granddaughter, Candice, his great-grandkids, Christina, Izaiah, Aleyah and Mikey. He leaves behind his wife, Carol of Sacaton and his granddaughter, Candice Montoya-Schurz of Casa Grande and his four great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mark Schurz.
